There is no Greater Asset on Earth Than the Love of a Mother
Tell Them Today Because There May Not Be a Tomorrow
Welcome to TellThemToday.org - A website in honor of Mrs. Karin E. Bartol and the countless other mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters, who selfishly give so much to those they love, without being told often enough how wonderful they are, and that their mere presence in life is the greatest gift of all.
If you would like to participate in the Tell Them Today project, please take a few minutes out of your day to express your appreciation to those who mean the most to you.
Dear Mom,When Dad called me home, to see you lying in bed, resting in peace, and ready to be embraced by the arms of the Lord, my whole world fell apart. Although I live but a short 15 minute drive away, I seldom visited or called as I should have, even when you asked why I didn't come over more often. The shameful truth is I allowed myself to be distracted by the little things in life that I now realize have no true significance in comparison to you. I always believed we had more time. Tomorrow I would tell myself, again and again, until there were no more days left to bank on.
I never got to tell you just how much you mean to me. How I have always loved, respected and adored you. How you are an angel who sacrificed everything for your children's safety and happiness. How you gave me strength in times of need. How you never asked for anything in return. How you were always a lady of dignity and class. How sorry I am for the pain I put you through in my rebellious youth. How I abandoned rather than protected you then. How the only reason I became a man who cares for and tries to help others is because of the morals and values you instilled in me, that existed, thanks to you, even when acting out as a child. It was you that allowed me to turn anger and despair into hope, an appreciation for God, and kindness for my fellow man.
I pray now that the Heavenly Father blesses you with the same comfort that you gave me, and rewards you for all the lives that you have touched, including my own. Forgive me Mom.
Love,Carl
